Her primary research area is contemporary nonreligion and cultural religion in a Scandinavian context as well as religion and crises. In her Ph.D. dissertation, she analyzed extensive qualitative and quantitative data inspired by cognitive, psychological and sociological perspectives with the aim of providing a new framework for understanding contemporary nonreligious identity construction and meaning-making.
