Professor Anne Kubai is associate professor of World Christianity and Interreligious Studies. Currently, she is a researcher at the school of Historical and Contemporary Studies in S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn University, Sweden. She is Professor Extraordinarius at UNISA, Institute of Gender Studies, South Africa. She is also a Research Fellow in the Discipline Group Practical Theology and Missiology at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Kubai worked in Kenya and Rwanda for many years. She has served as a visiting professor in several institutions. She worked as Research Director for Life; Peace Institute, an International Ecumenical Centre for Peace Research and Action in Uppsala, Sweden. Prof Kubai also worked as a Senior Social Scientist at the Division of Global Health (IHCAR), Department of Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Until recently she was a researcher at the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Racism (CEMFOR) at the Department of Theology, Uppsala University, Sweden.<\/p>\n\n
Professor Kubai\u2019s research interests include religion, peace and conflict, genocide and mass atrocities, gender, transitional justice, international migration, human trafficking and sexual violence, and psychosocial studies. A great deal of her work has focused on peacebuilding and reconciliation after mass violence\/grave violations of human rights. She has a keen interest in the way spiritualties\/religions (indigenous and others) shape social-political developments, post-conflict social reconstruction and the sustainability discourse in addressing historical trauma. Kubai has published numerous academic journal articles, co-edited books, contributions to anthologies, popular science articles and research blogs. She has produced two documentaries: Female Warriors: Production by Anne Kubai, 2017 and Reformed Raiders: Production by Anne Kubai, 2017.
